Bangladesh Bureau of Educational Information and Statistics (Banbase) is the only government agency responsible for collecting, storing, distributing and disseminating educational information and statistics in the country's education management.
Bangladesh Bureau of Educational Information and Statistics (Banbase) started its work as an attached department of the Ministry of Education in the fiscal year 1976-77. The organization has been involved in continuous multifaceted development in the education sector, producing and providing educational information and has been appreciated by national and international organizations. At present, in addition to educational information and statistics activities, Banbase is also playing an important role in the promotion of ICT training and ICT education in the education sector.
Upazila ICT Training and Resource Center for Education (UITRCE) is the field-level office of Banbase. Banbase's field-level activities are carried out through UITRCE centers at the upazila level.
In the first phase, UITRCE centers have been established in 125 upazilas. On March 2, 2016, Since the inauguration day, ICT training and other activities of Banbase have been being conducted in all these centers.
In the second phase, work is underway to establish UITRCE centers in 160 more upazilas. Centers will be established in the remaining 207 upazilas in the third phase.
